So, I know that the saying is the early bird gets the worm, but in this house the early bird starts a war! Our son Jacob woke up very early today 6 something. Now, usually he wakes up between 7:30 and 7:45. This I can usually handle. But today WWIII broke out. He was so tired by 9:30 that he was acting up, and using the N word too much (NO!!!!). So I tried everything I could to distract him and offer things to do until the nap time came. By 11:00 I had had it! I sent him up to take a nap and he reentered the battle field at least 10 times. He had every excuse in the book, wanted some water, a snack, a kiss, and of course he insisted that he had a poopy diaper. So after a couple hundred deep breaths and some threatening tones, the battle had ceased at 12:30 and mom had won!
I love my children, and I am convinced more and more that God uses children to teach about patience, and complete reliance on God. For there is no other way that I got through that 3 hour war without asking God for little help (actually a lot- all of the time).
