Home bitter sweet home

We made it! We are home, although I am kind of sad to be home. Don't get me wrong- I loved seeing the kids, but I really miss Hawaii. It is so beautiful, WARM, refreshing, fun, and so not Minnesota. I can't believe people really live in a place like MN when there are places like Hawaii in this world. What are we thinking?

I thought I would be dying to come home, but I found myself longing for just one more day away from the reality of life. Although the true reality is that we could not afford to spend another minute there- it's soooooo expensive.

So now I am home, and the kids are great- I did miss holding them and reading to them and cleaning up after them (a little). I will get out of this funk I am sure in a day or so, but for now, I am dreaming of paradise, and hoping we are fortuante enough to go again someday(with the kids).

Thank you for your prayers- I know they helped!

  1. I know how you feel. Dustin and I went to Duluth last May for my 30th birthday. I really missed the kids but it was hard to come back to reality! It was sooooo nice to sleep in (and through the night!)

  2. Welcome home! So glad that you guys had a great time! Joel and I are hoping to be able to travel back there some day. We are going to go without kids next time. We traveled with Nico the first time when he was 2 - don't advise it!
We had a blast even though we had to stay on a two year olds schedule and ability level! Glad you guys had a great time.
