Jesus is with us!

Sometimes our children do things that make us cry. Sometimes it's becasue we are so happy, and sometimes it's because we can't take them any longer. Yesterday was one of those happy days. I was doing some work on the computer and Isabelle came up to me and started folding her hands. She was persistent(as Izzy always is) and so I asked her if that meant she wanted to pray. She responded yes. I asked who do you want to pray for? "Mama", she replied. So we did, then she folded her hands again, and I asked do you want to pray again? "Yeah." Who do you want to pray for? "Dada". So we did. I think she is going to be our little prayer warrior.

Then yesterday afternoon, Jacob was playing in the entry way with Isabelle (they were up to no go I am sure of it). But Jake came running around the corner yelling, "Mommy I saw Jesus!" I said, " You did, where?" Then he pointed to the picture on our wall where it really is Jesus. I acknowledged his recognition of the him, and reminded him that Jesus is EVERYWHERE, not just in a picture, and then the tears flowed with his next comment. He said, "I know mom, Jesus is in my heart!" I tear just typing it.

I know he is too little to understand, but the foundation is being laid in him, and that is what I pray everyday. These are the reasons I have a blog for the moments like this that I don't forget and I can tell them about. At age 1 and 2 my children are recognizing Jesus and how to talk to Him. I pray that continues throughout their lives, and that our house is a constant example of Jesus' love.

Thank you Jesus for the little moments like this that help remind me that I am doing a good job!

  1. Steph,
You are doing a wonderful job! 1 and 2 years old don't acknowledge Jesus without a mommy who shows Him to them daily. Do you realize how closely your life parallels with the Proverbs 31 woman? What you got a taste of is "her children will rise up and bless her" I just read that passage in the Message and it says "She keeps an eye on everyone in her household, and keeps them all busy and productive. Her children respect and bless her..." Do you hear that they were writing about you!!! Happy Birthday!
