Spring cleaning!

WEll yesterday was so beautiful outside that I got excited and opened up all the windows. I LOVE SPRING!!!!!! When new life blooms, the air is warm, birds sing, and kids jump in puddles. God must have really enjoyed creating spring! I know it's a bit early, but it's so close. I am waiting for Tulips to pop up- this might be my favorite thing of all.

Well with all that said, I decided to do some 'spring cleaning' I know it's a bit early, but I wanted to vacuum out the vents- I don't think it's ever been done. So I borrowed the neighbors shop vac and went to it. I was working on the first vent. I was really ambitious. I was vacing and then it got plugged. I went to remove what ever it was that was plugging it and I screamed! Stuck to the end of the vac was a baby fried and flattened FROG! I was so disgusted, I would post a picture of it but we left our camera at Brenton's cousin's house. It was so nasty. If you do want to see it, stop by, it's in the garage!

So every vent after that I was completely scared of what else I would suck up. I feared the worst.... A snake! But all turned out ok after that. Someone told us the frog must have gotten there when the house was built, and I embarrassingly admit, I have never vacuumed the vents. Now you all know my flaw for the day!

Stay tuned, I will get a pic of the frog when I get my camera back.

  1. I am so surprised that you continued on with the other vents. I find that totally out of
character for my beautiful daughter. Way to go Stephanie.
    You found no toys?? Wow.

  2. Wow - You are way ahead of me! I have been living in this house for almost 7 years and I will admit, I have never vacuumed my vents. I'm impressed! After reading your story, I will probably continue down the same road of dirty vents!!Although, I think that I would probably find a huge pile of lost toys! Nico use to love to see what could fit through the tiny slots! Way to go, Steph! I too couldn't resist the beautiful almost 50+ degree day! I hung our comforter and pillows out in the fresh air. I have not slept so well in a long while!

  4. Steph, I want you to know that you've inspired me to clean my vents now (and by me I mean that I'll have Dustin do it!) (:

    We've lived here for 3 1/2 years and I think it's time.

And don't feel bad about the dead frog. One of Dustin's friends cleaned vents for awhile and more often than not there was something gross in there!
