So the lyrics of the song, "If you want me to" by Ginny Owens have been in my CD player for a couple weeks now and I find myself listening to it on repeat so I can fully grasp what it is saying. I LOVE IT!!!! You all know that we are in a transition phase of life, and sometimes I don't understand why things happen the way they do, and I don't see the journey that's ahead of me. This song helps me grasp day to day and know that these are not my days to plan out, but they are for God, and I maybe didn't choose this journey to be on, but I can look back over the past 5 years and say I didn't choose many of the paths I walked...God did! I am learning through life and children that I need to be on my knees asking God to lead. So, below are the lyrics to the song that inspires me to keep going everyday even if it's not the way I would have decided to do the day, week, month, or years.
The pathway is broken
And The signs are unclear
And I don't know the reason why You brought me here
But just because You love me the way that You do
I'm gonna walk through the valley
If You want me to
Chorus:
Cause I'm not who I was
When I took my first step
And I'm clinging to the promise You're not through with me yet
so if all of these trials bring me closer to you
Then I will go through the fire
If You want me to
It may not be the way I would have chosen
When you lead me through a world that's not my home
But You never said it would be easy
You only said I'd never go alone
So When the whole world turns against me
And I'm all by myself
And I can't hear You answer my cries for help
I'll remember the suffering Your love put You through
And I will go through the darkness
If You want me to
When I cross over Jordan,
I'm gonna sing, gonna shout
I'm gonna look into Your eyes and see
You never let me down
So take me on the pathway that will lead me home to You
And I will walk through the valley
If You want me to
Yes, I will walk through the valley
If You want me to
It's by Ginny Owens if you any of you want to purchase it from itunes. I LOVE IT!
This very song got me through my last 2.5 years of college...it is in my all time top ten favorite songs of my life; if my life had a soundtrack, this would be the first and last song!
