Smaller Jeans update

I realize it has been a few months since I have mentioned the progress of the smaller jeans. There is not much to report. After a summer vacation filled with eating out and drive-thru stops, I can say that my smaller jeans have not gotten smaller. I guess I can't really complain considering they still fit. I said last December that I was making it a goal to lose 60 lbs. I haven't given up, I will not give up. I have taken a bit of a detour, but you can believe it's on my mind every other minute of the day. As our life schedule will hopefully slow down for a bit, I hope to refocus myself and get back to it. We no longer have a health club membership so that somewhat plays a part in my lack of being focused. It was easier to say no to the tempting foods after I had killed myself on the treadmill to burn 350 calories. I do miss that, it is weird in a psychotic kind of way. The feeling of working hard for a sweat then come to the end and be proud of myself for making it. I really never though I would hear myself say that I missed working out. I am reading a good book right now that is getting me more motivated about losing the weight. I will reveal it later and let you know the strategies I have learned. So, thank you to those who have continued to encourage me even when I stray. Changing anything in your life is difficult especially if it's the way you operated forever. I am in the middle of a change in my life. In so many more ways than just weight. It's time for some emotional change, physical change, life stage change, and more. I am on the journey and I can't wait to arrive!

  1. Hey Stephanie!

First, I want to say HI, and I am looking forward to staying in touch with you even after I move. I move into my new house in Faribault on Monday, July 16th. YEA!!!

Second, I want to encourage you to enjoy your journey and don't get too hung up about your weight and size of your clothes. Now, before anybody gets snippy with me, TRUST ME, I know that this is easier said than done.

I was reading a mini-book by Joel Osteen that is called Living the Joy Filled Life last night. While I was reading your entry, I was reminded of something that I read in the book that I wanted to share with you.

"God's desire is not that we hurry through life, thinking joy lies in reaching some future destination. His desire is that we enjoy the entire journey! The BIble says in 2 Corinthians 3:18 that we are constantly being changed from glory to glory. We're always moving forward. We never really 'arrive.'"

Now, I know that you can actually arrive at a particular weight. However, I still wanted to encourage you to ENJOY AND APPRECIATE THE JOURNEY!!!

I plan on posting the 6 steps he listed in his book on my blog in the next week or so. Check my blog at www.gullandfamilyupdate.blogspot.com
