Thank You for Hearing Me

We have sung this song in church many times and I love it every time! It makes me cry, smile, ask for forgiveness and want to dance all at the same time. They gave a background of the song this morning which made it even more real to me, saying one might think this is a song written to celebrate Jesus answering prayers and deliverance. However, the real story of the song is that it was written when the author was in a very low place in life, and could find nothing else to say or ask of God except thank you. Have you been or are you in that place right now? I know I have been there. If you don't want to watch the movie clip (the only one I could find) just close your eyes and listen to the words, actually listen to it more than once and sing along. My prayer is that spirit meets you in whatever way you need it to.
