I have NEVER been one to try and fix something myself. I rely completely on those trained to come and fix my problems or on my old neighbor. Some people marry a handy-man, I did not. Brenton is definitely gifted at leading people to the source (scripture) of spiritual fixing, but he lacks in the area of home/ vehicle fixing. He tries, but he can't do everything... right? So, I have accumulated a list of things I want to get fixed around our house before we sell or rent to someone else. The budget doesn't have a lot of spare funds to hire someone at $50.00 an hour to fix my leaky sink, so I did a search online and entered 'how to fix a leaky sink', and I watched a video of someone else doing it, and 15 minutes later, my sink was fixed and it cost me nothing! WOO WHOO! After that, I changed all the burnt out light bulbs that have been driving me crazy (I know that doesn't take a professional), and am currently doing some more research for projects I want to get done. I really like fixing things. Move over Ty Pennington, I think I'm onto something. More than fixing it myself, I am so excited about the money I saved. There are a couple projects I will need professionals, a new garage door and gas leak in the fire place, but I do have more confidence in doing it myself.
Good job Steph, you rock!
ReplyDeleteHow many stay-at-home-moms does it take to change a lightbulb? :) I changed 4 bulbs that had been burnt out for some time today, too! ha ha!
