Venting

Why are insurance company's so difficult to work with? Do they follow a script to make it near impossible to talk with one person to take of one issue. I feel like every time I talk to an insurance company they transfer me 4 times and put me on hold 8 times. And usually I hold for 5 minutes between each transfer. It's so frustrating!
