I got the question today from Jacob that I knew he would eventually would ask. I thought I would have a better answer, but here is how it played out:
Jacob: "Isabelle, do you remember when you were in Mommy's tunny?"
Isabelle: "No"
Jacob: "Mommy, do you remember when I was in your tummy?"
Me: "yes, I remember when all of you were in my tummy"
Jacob: "Mommy, how did I get out of your tummy?"
Me: "The Dr. takes you out." (Hoping that answer is good enough and trying hard to distract them by changing the subject)
Jacob: "But mommy, how does the Dr. get the baby out."
Me: "Well, mommy's have to work really hard and push hard to get the baby out and the Dr. takes the baby out."
Jacob: "Oh, so you had to work really hard to get us out when we were babies? Can we go downstairs not and watch Mickey's clubhouse?"
Me: "Yes honey, let's get up."
Whew... close call! Every time the topic starts to come up with my kids I break out in a cold sweat!
