One down...four to go

I finally finished one of the 5 books I have been reading. There are so many great parts in this book, that I have to recommend it to both men and women. In a chapter about being rescued from the Pit, Beth talks about the first thing that happens is that you God gives you a new song to sing. This is a quote that captured me in awe of how cool God is:

"God chases you down with melody and hems you in with harmony until your raptured soul finds liberty and your aching feet find stability. Christ, the King, the Creator if the Universe, seeks and surrounds YOU with songs of deliverance."

I actually laughed out loud when I read this next part:

"Most folks agree that heaven is a better option than hell but, comparatively speaking, only a handful of Christians really anticipate their futures there. Face it. We're scared to death that it's going to be like our church services, only instead of getting out at noon, it will last an eternity. For the life of us, we can't picture how anything holy can possibly be lively. Let alone fun."

I could go on and on with great things Beth says. When I started reading this book, it was because, I have been in pits, and I was hoping to find some great advice to make sure I didn't get in one again. What God revealed to me while I was reading it, was that I was in fact in a pit, and He wanted to take my hand and help pull me out. I can with confidence say that I have been delivered from it and with God's help I hope to never return, but in the case that I do, I know I will be pulling this back off the book shelf and reading it again. I don't believe you will disappointed with reading this book. I would love to hear if you have read it or if you do read it, what you think.
