WANTED- a good book to read
I am searching for a good book to read these days. One that captures me so much that I can't think of anything else to do except read it. Any suggestions?
I liked all of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants books.... they're kind of cheesy but fun and easy reads. I also recently read A Prayer For Owen Meany and loved it!
My Sister's Keeper is a really good book. I have it here if you want to run over and borrow it : ) The Mitch Albom books are good, too (Tuesday's With Morrie, For One More Day, The Five People You Meet in Heaven) - got those too! The Knitting Circle is also really good - Ann Hood. And, yup, got that one, too....... : )
The "Twilight" series by Stephanie Meyer is great! I also liked "The Shack." Otherwise, if you like funny, easy reads Janet Evanovich's books are good (the number ones like Fearless Fourteen are good--start from the beginning). "The Kite Runner" by Khaled Hosseini, Wicked by Gregory Maguire, and then James Patterson has some good books too. There's a lot to think about :)
Hi! I am a friend of the Sorbels and often find myself reading your blog. I am an avid reader but I have not read The Shack. Our church leadership does not think it is good. I found this link - http://worththewaitblog.wordpress.com/2008/09/06/thirteen-heresies-in-the-shack-by-dr-michael-youssef/ - that expresses some heresies that are found in the book. Again I haven't read it so I am not sure how this all works with the book but thought I would send you the info anyways. For some suggestions - I have been reading the Redemption series by Karen Kingsbury & Gary Smalley. Loved it!! I also love everything by Jodi Picoult. I just read Change of Heart - sooo good!!!
Another one for you...The Yada Yada Prayer Group novels are great. There's 7 in the series and Neta Jackson, the author, is supposed to come out with another series this Feb. =)
Well, I have heard great reviews about the books by Stephenie Meyer!
ReplyDeleteCheck out "The Shack" will change your life.
ReplyDeleteare you looking at fiction or non??
ReplyDeleteFiction, but I am open to a nonfiction if it comes highly recommended.
