Single parenting

I cannot believe that so many people can survive as single parents. I say this with all the respect in the world, because when Brenton is working overnights, I feel like a single parent, and right now I feel like I won't survive.
Being a parent is a tough enough job when you have an active, engaged, partner to help with the disciplining, explaining, playing, arguing, and teaching moments. How do single parents do it, or even parents who have a spouse traveling all week and never getting a break?
My hat goes off to any parent that goes at it alone, I realized today that I am not strong enough emotionally or mentally to handle parenting on my own and I am so glad that I don't have to go at it alone all the time.

  1. You did great yesterday! Considering it was the 4th of July, with the parade, candy, no naps and fireworks at 10pm, you and your kids held up great! I give you HUGE props for making it to all the activities that you did!!

  2. Amen! I absolutely dread when my husband has to work late or is out of town. My sister did the single parenting thing for a while and I just don't know how she did it!
