Aloha...or...Aloha?

So, I guess aloha means hello and goodbye. I will be finding out in only 2 days! YIKES!!! My husband are very blessed to be going on a vacation fully paid to Honolulu Hawaii. As many of you know and helped get us there Tupperware is sending us for FREE.

I am very gratful and excited to go, but I must confess, I am extremely nervous about going as well. My mother and Brenton's mom will taking turns watching the kids. I know they will do an excellent job because they were both excellent mom's! BUT I don't know how the kids will be to them.

My youngest, Isabelle, can be a real fire ball sometimes. And Jake, my oldest, isn't the best sleeper. He wakes up several times at night because he loses his nuk (I know he is 2 and I need to get rid of the nuk...if you have any ideas- please share them with me).

So I am sending out a prayer request for anyone that reads this. Please pray for me, that I will be at peace about leaving and enjoy this wonderful opportunity with my husband. AND pray for the grandma's watching the kids, and the kids themselves. Pray for healthiness for all and energy for all (more for the g-ma's and less for the kids!)

Thanks, I will let you all know what I find out about the whole Aloha thing!

  1. Aloha does mean hellow and goodbye! So Aloha to you today - I got your email and now see your above blog - great read! Thanks for sending, I actually needed a little boost today - struggling a litte bit! Back to the Hawaii thing - your plane ride if it is direct is 8 hours. Eight hours of sleep, relaxation and well food if that's what you want to call it. Bring games for the plane - if you don't have any travel ones, call me I'll hook you up! When you get there - you will be blown away! It is so beautiful. What part are you going - the Big Island (Hawaii) or a different one? My husband and I were fortunate enough to travel to the Big Island - we loved it! Oh yeah - I also have a book on Hawaii, that is a travel companion - call me, I would be happy to lend it to you. We certainly will be praying for you and the Grandma's and the kids! Please leave our number for them to call me if they need help or a break! We will help wherever we can. HAVE A BLAST - SOAK UP THE SUN - AND TAKE SOME TIME FOR YOU AND YOUR HUBBY! (Just remember you are 2 - 3000 miles away and there really isn't alot you can do from there back at home, so keep it all in perspective and have your church family pitch in and help - if it's needed!) Would you like to borrow some Hawaiian shirts to get into the spirit of things? We will miss you - Aloha!

  3. I hope you guys are having fun! You deserve this trip!
BTW, check out this website on weaning kids off of pacifiers: http://www.momcentral.com/FeaturedArticles/weaningpacifier.html
One of my favorite tips is dipping the nuk in lemon or grapefruit juice to make it taste bitter. :)

    Come home safe!
