Today was HOT today! The temp gage in the van said 99, but the man on the radio said 90. I have offically started to hate the summer. I only say that because I am hugely prego so I can barely bend over, I sweat in places that are not suppose to sweat, and am so uncomfortable sitting, standing, or laying. BUT on the hottest day thus far we ventured as a family down to Lake Nakomis in Minneapolis today. It was a nice beach area with a some swings and a slide and it was not crowded with too many people like some lakes in the cities. The kids had a blast (after a while). Jacob for some odd reason was really freaked out about walking in the sand. He cried for about 10 minutes about not wanting to go on the sand or in the water. Isabelle on the other hand is fearless. She wanted to get down immediately and ran right into the lake. She was only stopped because she tripped and fell face first into the water. That seemed to slow her down a bit. Jacob finally came around after seeing Izzy and I playing the water and he eventually was full body in and having a great time.
It was a FUN family day! I love to watch my kids playing, laughing and having a good time. I think back to when I was a kid and remember playing at the beach all day loving every minute of it. Oh, to be a kid again- would I want to?... maybe for a day but I am pretty happy with being an adult. How about you? would you want to be a kid again, and for how long?
Every hot day I think of you and the other pregos. I remember how miserable it is to be pregnant in the summer!
ReplyDeleteYou should let me know when a good day to take you and the kids to my parent's lake comes along. The kids will have a blast and you can just sit with your feet in the water and I'll do all the rest!
