Away at the Lake

We had a great family weekend up at the Balvin cabin. It's so refreshing to get away without an agenda. Brenton's family is doing a lot of work up there so Brenton was able to help them with that. I was able to finish reading my book, and do some much needed thinking.

I did have one panic moment! Brenton, the kids and I were planning on taking a nice relaxing paddleboat ride. Brenton and Jake were in the boat already. Jake was sitting in the back bucket. Isabelle was on the dock and I stepped in and sat down. I was a bit uneasy and defineatly not smoothe about entering the boat. I sat down and out of the corner of my eye, I saw a splash in the water realizing Jacob had been catapulted out of the boat and into the lake. I screamed, "Brenton, Jake fell in the lake- go get him!"

All was fine in the end. Jake was a little shaken by the whole ordeal, but we clapped and told him how cool he was for going swimming. It seemed like he was in the water forever, but it was not more than 5 seconds thanks to Brenton's baywatch rescue! That was the big exciting event at the cabin, if you ask Jake about it he will tell you he fell in, and his daddy saved him. It's quite cute.
