But, while we were there, I realized I am a true 'adult parent'. You would think I would have already come to this realization with 3 kids, but it was embarrassingly obvious this morning. I was looking over the kids menu and I continued to be happily amazed at all the little extra things Perkins does to make the kids meals fun. For example, they make the pancakes look like a bear, and they put chocolate chips on them. Or you can get pancakes with powdered sugar and colorful sprinkles, or they lay the sticks of french toast on one another so it looks like a number sign. There are more fun things as well. But this one topped it off, if you order a kids meal it comes with a free drink and a free "crazy" cookie. The cookie is half chocolate chip and half sugar! I thought that I was really cool.
Call me a nerd, or a mom of 3. I think the little extra effort they make to make a child smile and eat their food is worth making another trip back someday.
And Tuesday is kids night. We found that out on 11.28 when Cooper wanted pancakes for his b-day dinner. His meal was free because of Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteI was also impressed with the crazy cookie. Cooper ate the chocolate chip half.
I've been wanting to respond to this one for a while now. How funny that the only other comment is from my husband!!
ReplyDeleteIn the short life of my blog, I've already referenced Perkins twice!
Sighhhhh....too bad it's, uh, not the healthiest food in the world...stay strong!....but for a hard-working family that needs somewhere to go with the kids, you can't beat it.
