Each spring, the kids anxiously await for the ducks and geese to fly back to Northfield. Then they ask daily when the baby ducks will be here, because they want to feed them. One of their favorite things to do is go downtown by the Cannon River and throw bread chunks to the birds. The mama geese hiss a little bit, but then they welcome the free food and have no problems with us. I am always amazed at how calm the kids get when they are around nature. They love to sit and watch them eat, swim, and play.
