Good Samaritian

Yesterday I had a lot of errands to get done, and they seemed to be all over the metro area. The kids are good car riders, they like going places, just like their mama. It was such a beautiful day yesterday that I felt bad for the 3 hours we were going to be in the car, so we made a few stops for them. First, we stopped at a really fun park in Minneapolis. I'm not really sure where I was, but I think it was lake Nakomis. Then I got lost and ended up cutting through the heart of Minneapolis til I found the interstate that I needed. Our next stop was a good 40 minutes away, so I told the kids we could stop and get lunch. They chose McDonald's, of course. While in McDonalds, I was trying to get all the kids food ordered, keep them quiet, fill their drinks, and carry the tray and Andrew to the table. An older man and his wife noticed my struggle or with balancing the filled drinks, food, and Andrew and so graciously offered to help. Because I don't like to appear weak, I declined their help. Then a little voice in my head said, why did you do that, you clearly need some help carrying everything. So, I paused, and then said, you know, I really could use some help, thank you. They were so friendly, never making a comment about my hands being too full, or needing some help. They were sweet, smiling, and saying how cute the kids were. I was so appreciative of their kindness. I was reminded, that I hope I am always willing to help a mom or anyone when they need some help. I hope I do it without judgment or false kindness. So, be watchful, there are moments that we pass up everyday to help someone in need. I hope we can all do with a joyful, loving, Christ focused spirit!

To be a kid again

What a day! The kids, my mom, my niece, and sister-in-law all headed to the MN Children's Museum! It was SOOO fun! It is filled with "real life" things that kids can explore in. An example being "The town"- There was a post office, a restaurant, a dance club, a grocery store, a bus, and a house all accessorized with everything you would find in those places. I wish I was a kid again and I could climb, slide and get really over stimulated by all the action. It was better than seeing the kids faces on Christmas, they were running from one exciting thing to the next. Here are some photos of our time. I would love to go again with the kids. Thanks Janelle and Jason for the gift certificate and thanks mom for coming and helping not lose anyone!
